"Without Him"
(Mylon R. Lefevre)
Without Him I could do nothing
Without Him I'd surely fail
Without Him I would be drifting
Like a ship without a sail
Without Him I'd surely fail
Without Him I would be drifting
Like a ship without a sail
Without Him I would be dying
Without Him I'd be enslaved
Without Him life would be worthless
But with Jesus thank God I'm saved
Without Him I'd be enslaved
Without Him life would be worthless
But with Jesus thank God I'm saved
Oh Jesus, oh Jesus
Do you know Him today
Please don't turn Him away
Oh Jesus, my Jesus
Without Him how lost I would be
Without Him how lost I would be
Do you know Him today
Please don't turn Him away
Oh Jesus, my Jesus
Without Him how lost I would be
Without Him how lost I would be

Psalm 34 [CEV]
5 Keep your eyes on the Lord!
You will shine like the sun
and never blush with shame.
6 I was a nobody, but I prayed,
and the Lord saved me
from all my troubles.
19 The Lord’s people
may suffer a lot,
but he will always
bring them safely through.
5 Keep your eyes on the Lord!
You will shine like the sun
and never blush with shame.
6 I was a nobody, but I prayed,
and the Lord saved me
from all my troubles.
7 If you honor the Lord,
his angel will protect you.
8 Discover for yourself
that the Lord is kind.
Come to him for protection,
and you will be glad.
his angel will protect you.
8 Discover for yourself
that the Lord is kind.
Come to him for protection,
and you will be glad.
9 Honor the Lord!
You are his special people.
No one who honors the Lord
will ever be in need.
10 Young lions[a] may go hungry
or even starve,
but if you trust the Lord,
you will never miss out
on anything good.
You are his special people.
No one who honors the Lord
will ever be in need.
10 Young lions[a] may go hungry
or even starve,
but if you trust the Lord,
you will never miss out
on anything good.
11 Come, my children, listen
as I teach you
to respect the Lord.
12 Do you want to live
and enjoy a long life?
13 Then don’t say cruel things
and don’t tell lies.
14 Do good instead of evil
and try to live at peace.
as I teach you
to respect the Lord.
12 Do you want to live
and enjoy a long life?
13 Then don’t say cruel things
and don’t tell lies.
14 Do good instead of evil
and try to live at peace.
15 If you obey the Lord,
he will watch over you
and answer your prayers.
16 But God despises evil people,
and he will wipe them all
from the earth,
till they are forgotten.
17 When his people pray for help,
he listens and rescues them
from their troubles.
18 The Lord is there to rescue
all
who are discouraged
and have given up hope.
he will watch over you
and answer your prayers.
16 But God despises evil people,
and he will wipe them all
from the earth,
till they are forgotten.
17 When his people pray for help,
he listens and rescues them
from their troubles.
18 The Lord is there to rescue

Romans 13(NLT)
Respect for Authority
13 Everyone
must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God,
and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. 2 So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished. 3 For
the authorities do not strike fear in people who are doing right, but
in those who are doing wrong. Would you like to live without fear of the
authorities? Do what is right, and they will honor you. 4 The
authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good. But if you are
doing wrong, of course you should be afraid, for they have the power to
punish you. They are God’s servants, sent for the very purpose of
punishing those who do what is wrong. 5 So you must submit to them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience.
6 Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do. 7 Give
to everyone what you owe them: Pay your taxes and government fees to
those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in
authority.Love Fulfills God’s Requirements
8 Owe
nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If
you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law. 9 For the commandments say, “You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not covet.”[a] These—and other such commandments—are summed up in this one commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”[b] 10 Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law.
11 This
is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running
out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first
believed. 12 The
night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove
your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of
right living. 13 Because
we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don’t
participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in
sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy. 14 Instead,
clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t
let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.

2 Samuel 22:2-3; 2 Samuel 22:33 (New Living Translation)

Ac 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and
exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much
tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
It is the office of the ministers, not only to
teach, but also to confirm those that are taught, and prepare them for the
cross. (Geneva Bible Commentary)
We know that Paul was a persecuter of the
church and a murderer. He deserved nothing but hell. When his free will was
taking him directly to hell, God interfered and saved Paul and Paul was saved
by grace alone. We too fall into the same category, we too were on the way to
hell, as our free will is to sin against the Lord, then one day God regenerated
us and saved us by grace alone. Now we
are soldier for Christ. A soldier does
not creep into a corner and live idly, if he does the enemy will kill him. Soldiers life is not a comfortable life as
they have to adopt to all situations because they are in a war.
Here we see how Paul and Barnabas returning to
the churches which they have taught before.
Why did they return? The word of God is not only instructions to the
believer but also confirmation of their faith.
The word confirm here is to strengthen and establish. Those that are converted need to be
confirmed in their faith. They will go through hardships and trials in Christ.
Whatever planted need to be rooted. The
goal of the pastors is to awaken the sinners and to establish them to hold
strongly to the faith. Paul and
Barnabas returned on this in mind.
They exhorted them to continue in the
faith. The word exhort means to
encourage, advise, and to warn. Paul
said, that we must go through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of
God. It means the Christian must go
through much affliction, much anguish, much trouble, much hardship, much
burden, much pressure to enter to the kingdom of God . This was their advise to the church.
How many kinds of afflictions are there? There
are two kinds of afflictions. 1. Eternal. 2. Temporal. The eternal is for the
wicked, for the disobedient, the torments of body and soul. This is an
everlasting torment in hell, in the lake of fire, unquenchable fire, it is like
a worm that dieth not, everlasting death as the torments will be everlasting,
they experience dying, always dying, but never be dead, always to die and never
to be dead. The scriptures say, “Their worm shall not die, neither shall their
fire be quenched.” (Mark 9:46-48) What is the reason for this punishment? Or is
it necessary for this kind of punishment? Yes, the reason is that they have
committed sin against God who is infinitely good, and he demands an infinite
punishment and satisfaction, God’s justice have to be satisfied.
All the others are temporal afflictions. There
are temporal afflictions for the godly and ungodly, as even the ungodly
experience afflictions of sickness, poverty, wars and other miseries of life.
In reference to our subject when Paul said, “we must through much
tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.” He is referring to the afflictions
where the godly will endure on carrying the cross. I personally see there are four kinds of afflictions for the
godly on carrying the cross.
Mr 8:34 And when he had called the people
unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after
me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
35 For whosoever will save his life shall
lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the
same shall save it.
36 For what shall it profit a man, if he
shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for
his soul?
38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me
and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the
Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy
angels.
Psalm 27:1-14 (English Standard Version)
1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall. 3 Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident. 4 One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon thePsalm 94:22 But the Lord has become my stronghold, and my God the rock of my refuge.
Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Psalm 59:9 O my Strength, I will watch for you, for you, O God, are my fortress.
Isaiah 33:16 he will dwell on the heights; his place of defense will be the fortresses of rocks; his bread will be given him; his water will be sure.
Psalm 59:9 O my Strength, I watch for you; you, O God, are my fortress,
Psalm 62:6 He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
Psalm 62:2 He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.
Psalm 59:16-17 But I will sing of your strength; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning. For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress. O my Strength, I will sing praises to you, for you, O God, are my fortress, the God who shows me steadfast love.
Of David. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord
is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When evildoers
assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who
stumble and fall. Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not
fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident.

At first there were
but twelve who, In the Upper Room, Sat down with Jesus at the Paschal Feast.
But now we come in myriads To sup with our
Beloved— So greatly has His “little flock” increased!
Once more He lifts the Cup Vintage red
and bittersweet, And we hear Him say, “This is My Blood,” again.
Then we in turn receive it With thanksgiving,
as did they. That we may taste His passion and His pain.
And when He breaks the Bread And speaks the
Holy Words
That bless it and
transform it to our need;
Again Christ stands revealed— ALIVE forever more! As
the Bread becomes His Body indeed!

Was struck by finding Isaiah 3:13-15 (NLT)

14 The Lord comes forward to pronounce judgment

“You have ruined Israel, my vineyard.
Your houses are filled with things stolen from the poor.
15 How dare you crush my people,
grinding the faces of the poor into the dust?”
demands the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

Hebrews 12:1-3 (NLT)
God’s Discipline Proves His Love
12 Therefore,
since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life
of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially
the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the
race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.[a] Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. 3 Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.
- Hebrews 12:2 Or Jesus, the originator and perfecter of our faith.
- Hebrews 12:3 Some manuscripts read Think of how people hurt themselves by opposing him.
John 20:27-29 (New Living Translation)
27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!”
28 “My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed.
29 Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”

Psalm 1 (NKJV)
1 Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,

"Because God's nature is infinite, everything that flows out of it is infinite also. We poor human creatures are constantly being frustrated by limitations...the days of our lives are few, and swifter than a weaver's shuttle. Life is a short and fevered rehearsal for a concert we cannot stay to give. Just when we appear to have attained some proficiency we are forced to lay our instruments down."

The impossible happens when God is around. It is His hallmark. Creation
itself began when He passed by. Job speaks of the universe as ‘but the
outer fringe of His works, or ‘the skirts of His ways’ like a track left
by walking on the wet grass. It was the same with Jesus. You could tell
when He had passed through a Jewish village. There were no sick people
left! That is Jesus! A Jesus who can structure nature as He wills is
more than a miracle worker – much, much more... He’s alive and passing
through your town today. God bless you. REINHARD BONNKE

Consciousness is not merely a matter of molecules, neurons, and
electric charges. In fact, it is consciousness that may be the basis
for reality, and therefore of all things. What does it mean to be a
"conscious" being. What is consciousness? Where does it come from? It
is a gift from God, which along with emotions like love, ties together
all life and all things and gives substance and fabric to being. Life
and love are eternal, as are we. Perhaps this was best understood by
the poet Alexander Pope centuries ago. Following are excerpts from
Pope's Essay on Man, which discusses our relationship with God.

Daily "Thread" for today: [Note the '22' component of this passage]
Acts 20:32 (NLT) “And now I entrust you to God and the message of his grace that is able to build you up and give you an inheritance with all those he has set apart for himself.
Acts 20:32 (The Message) “Now I’m turning you over to God, our marvelous God whose gracious Word can make you into what he wants you to be and give you everything you could possibly need in this community of holy friends.
A good verse for parents as their kids grow up and go out on their own-for them and us--though Paul the apostle was applying to people he expected not to see again in this life.

Ephesians 5
Living in the Light
Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. 2 Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us[a] and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.
3 Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people. 4 Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God. 5 You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.6 Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him. 7 Don’t participate in the things these people do. 8 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! 9 For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true.
10 Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. 11 Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. 12 It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. 13 But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them, 14 for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said,
“Awake, O sleeper,
rise up from the dead,
and Christ will give you light.”
rise up from the dead,
and Christ will give you light.”
Living by the Spirit’s Power
15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. 18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, 19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. 20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Paul
and Barnabas Return to Antioch of Syria
21 After preaching the Good News in Derbe and making many
disciples, Paul and Barnabas returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch of
Pisidia,
22 where
they strengthened the believers. They encouraged them to continue in the faith,
reminding them that we must suffer many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God. 23 Paul
and Barnabas also appointed elders in every church. With prayer and fasting,
they turned the elders over to the care of the Lord, in whom they had put their
trust.
24 Then they traveled back through Pisidia to Pamphylia. 25 They
preached the word in Perga, then went down to Attalia.
26 Finally, they returned by ship to Antioch of Syria,
where their journey had begun. The believers there had entrusted them to the
grace of God to do the work they had now completed. 27 Upon
arriving in Antioch, they called the church together and reported everything
God had done through them and how he had opened the door of faith to the
Gentiles, too. 28 And they stayed there with the believers for
a long time
