The Scriptures exhibit a numerical design the meaning of which can only be explained by the direct inspiration of the Creator God. Dr. Edward F. Vallowe, in his book Biblical Mathematics, writes:
"Numbers are the secret code of God’s Word. Only to the students of the Word, those to whom God’s Spirit has given spiritual insight, will the code be made plain. God has been called ‘The Great Geometrician’ and is said to do everything after a plan by number, weight and measure. If God is the Author of the Scriptures and the Creator of the Universe, and He is, then the Words of God and the Works of God should and will [numerically] harmonize" (page 19).
Imagine what the Bible would be like without the direct inspiration of a single Author:
"[The] various writers of the different books, men who lived in different ages, and most of whom never saw the others, would have crossed up each other had they not all been guided by a master mind, ONE, Who never makes a mistake, and Whose knowledge and wisdom comprehend the events of all time. The precision with which the Bible numbers all fall into their places cannot be accounted for except by the supernatural power and wisdom of a God Who is infinite" (Ibid., page 20).
From creation to about 90 AD, some 40 key writers were involved in compiling the Scriptures. A single author would have to be an absolute genius to develop the numerical design found in the Bible. But 40 separate authors, writing over a period of nearly 3800 years, consistently following a complex numerical pattern — the odds would be beyond calculation. It would simply be impossible — apart from the direct inspiration of God

To accompany Rita Springer's "I Have To Believe":

Isaiah 40 New Living Translation (NLT)Comfort for God’s People

40 “Comfort, comfort my people,”
    says your God.
“Speak tenderly to Jerusalem.
Tell her that her sad days are gone
    and her sins are pardoned.
Yes, the Lord has punished her twice over
    for all her sins.”
Listen! It’s the voice of someone shouting,
“Clear the way through the wilderness
    for the Lord!
Make a straight highway through the wasteland
    for our God!
Fill in the valleys,
and level the mountains and hills.
Straighten the curves,
and smooth out the rough places.
Then the glory of the Lord will be revealed,
and all people will see it together.
    The Lord has spoken!”[a]
A voice said, “Shout!”
I asked, “What should I shout?”
“Shout that people are like the grass.
    Their beauty fades as quickly
as the flowers in a field.
The grass withers and the flowers fade
beneath the breath of the Lord.
And so it is with people.
The grass withers and the flowers fade,
but the word of our God stands forever.”
O Zion, messenger of good news,
    shout from the mountaintops!
Shout it louder, O Jerusalem.[b]
Shout, and do not be afraid.
Tell the towns of Judah,
    “Your God is coming!”
10 Yes, the Sovereign Lord is coming in power.
He will rule with a powerful arm.
See, he brings his reward with him as he comes.
11 He will feed his flock like a shepherd.
He will carry the lambs in his arms,
holding them close to his heart.
He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.

The Lord Has No Equal

12 Who else has held the oceans in his hand?
Who has measured off the heavens with his fingers?
Who else knows the weight of the earth
or has weighed the mountains and hills on a scale?
13 Who is able to advise the Spirit of the Lord?[c]
Who knows enough to give him advice or teach him?
14 Has the Lord ever needed anyone’s advice?
Does he need instruction about what is good?
Did someone teach him what is right
or show him the path of justice?
15 No, for all the nations of the world
are but a drop in the bucket.
They are nothing more
    than dust on the scales.
He picks up the whole earth
as though it were a grain of sand.
16 All the wood in Lebanon’s forests
and all Lebanon’s animals would not be enough
to make a burnt offering worthy of our God.
17 The nations of the world are worth nothing to him.
In his eyes they count for less than nothing—
    mere emptiness and froth.
18 To whom can you compare God?
What image can you find to resemble him?
19 Can he be compared to an idol formed in a mold,
overlaid with gold, and decorated with silver chains?
20 Or if people are too poor for that,
they might at least choose wood that won’t decay
and a skilled craftsman
to carve an image that won’t fall down!
21 Haven’t you heard? Don’t you understand?
Are you deaf to the words of God—
the words he gave before the world began?
    Are you so ignorant?
22 God sits above the circle of the earth.
The people below seem like grasshoppers to him!
He spreads out the heavens like a curtain
and makes his tent from them.
23 He judges the great people of the world
and brings them all to nothing.
24 They hardly get started, barely taking root,
when he blows on them and they wither.
The wind carries them off like chaff.
25 “To whom will you compare me?
Who is my equal?” asks the Holy One.
26 Look up into the heavens.
    Who created all the stars?
He brings them out like an army, one after another,
    calling each by its name.
Because of his great power and incomparable strength,
not a single one is missing.
27 O Jacob, how can you say the Lord does not see your troubles?
O Israel, how can you say God ignores your rights?
28 Have you never heard?
    Have you never understood?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of all the earth.
He never grows weak or weary.
No one can measure the depths of his understanding.
29 He gives power to the weak
    and strength to the powerless.
30 Even youths will become weak and tired,
and young men will fall in exhaustion.
31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.Footnotes:Isaiah 40:5 Greek version reads He is a voice shouting in the wilderness, / “Prepare the way for the Lord’s coming! / Clear a road for our God! / Fill in the valleys, / and level the mountains and hills. / And then the glory of the Lord will be revealed, / and all people will see the salvation sent from God. / The Lord has spoken!” Compare Matt 3:3; Mark 1:3; Luke 3:4-6.
  1. Isaiah 40:9 Or O messenger of good news, shout to Zion from the mountaintops! Shout it louder to Jerusalem.
  2. Isaiah 40:13 Greek version reads Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Compare Rom 11:34; 1 Cor 2:16.

What is the meaning of the phrase “until Shiloh come” of Genesis 49:10?

Strong’s Concordance translates the Hebrew word Shiyloh as “tranquil” in English. Another word for tranquil is peace. Undoubtedly, this is referring to the Messiah soon to come. In Isaiah 9:6, He is given the epithet, “The Prince of Peace.” We find also, in Isaiah 52:7, a glorious description of the “Shiloh,” in this expression: “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that brings good tidings, that publishes peace.” In Isaiah 66:12, He promises to “…extend peace to her like a river…” This theme continues in the statement from Isaiah 54:13,”…great shall be the peace of your children.”Jesus Christ has many names: Savior, Prince of Peace, Counselor, Everlasting Father, and many more. Genesis 49:10 focuses on the epithet Shiloh, or Peace.

Saw this when researching first mentions of ANGER[Gen 4] & WRATH [hot anger] and encouraged by the prophetic words Jacob spoke over his sons, which contrasts the anger of Simeon & Levi and overcoming of Judah [PRAISE]...and this passage also connects so well with Isa. 63
Lovelights:
Three sheets to the wind, describes something or someone that is out of control. The term originated due the use of ropes that are located at the corner of sails, used on ships, called "sheets". If these ropes weren't set properly, the sails would start to flutter in the wind, which caused the ship to get out of control. The term is used frequently, when you see someone that is drunk, and you respond with "Wow, he/she is three sheets to the wind."...Mused about how this relates metaphorically with Dutch Sheets' teachings on how we are transformed from 'soulish control' through to Spirit induced 'self control [Gal 5:22] by encounters with difficult trials/tests.

  1. Proverbs 5:23
He will die for lack of self-control; he will be lost because of his great foolishness.

  2. Proverbs 16:32
Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self-control than to conquer a city.

  3. Proverbs 25:28
A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls.

  4. Acts 24:25
As he reasoned with them about righteousness and self-control and the coming day of judgment, Felix became frightened. “Go away for now,” he replied. “When it is more convenient, I’ll call for you again.”

  5. 1 Corinthians 7:5
Do not deprive each other of sexual relations, unless you both agree to refrain from sexual intimacy for a limited time so you can give yourselves more completely to prayer. Afterward, you should come together again so that Satan won’t be able to tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

  6. Galatians 5                  Freedom in Christ
So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.
Listen! I, Paul, tell you this: If you are counting on circumcision to make you right with God, then Christ will be of no benefit to you. I’ll say it again. If you are trying to find favor with God by being circumcised, you must obey every regulation in the whole law of Moses. For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.
But we who live by the Spirit eagerly wait to receive by faith the righteousness God has promised to us. For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, there is no benefit in being circumcised or being uncircumcised. What is important is faith expressing itself in love.
You were running the race so well. Who has held you back from following the truth? It certainly isn’t God, for he is the one who called you to freedom. This false teaching is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough! 10 I am trusting the Lord to keep you from believing false teachings. God will judge that person[could be our own self-deception], whoever he is, who has been confusing you.
11 Dear brothers and sisters,[a] if I were still preaching that you must be circumcised—as some say I do—why am I still being persecuted? If I were no longer preaching salvation through the cross of Christ, no one would be offended [self-righteousness, again, is offended by the thought that 'he' is insufficient]. .....
13 For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. 14 For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”[c] 15 But if you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another.

    Living by the Spirit’s Power

16 So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. 17 The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. 18 But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses.
19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. 25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. 26 Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.

  7. 1 Timothy 3:2
So an elder must be a man whose life is above reproach. He must be faithful to his wife. He must exercise self-control, live wisely, and have a good reputation. He must enjoy having guests in his home, and he must be able to teach.

  8. 1 Timothy 3:11
In the same way, their wives must be respected and must not slander others. They must exercise self-control and be faithful in everything they do.

  9. 2 Timothy 3:3
They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good.

  10. Titus 2:2
Teach the older men to exercise self-control, to be worthy of respect, and to live wisely. They must have sound faith and be filled with love and patience.

  11. 1 Peter 1:13
[ A Call to Holy Living ] So think clearly and exercise self-control. Look forward to the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.

  12. 2 Peter 1:5-7In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone

G.K. Chesterton on Philosophy

“Philosophy is merely thought that has been thought out. It is often a great bore. But man has no alternative, except between being influenced by thought that has been thought out and being influenced by thought that has not been thought out. The latter is what we commonly call culture and enlightenment today. But man is always influenced by thought of some kind, his own or somebody else’s; that of somebody he trusts or that of somebody he never heard of, thought at first, second or third hand; thought from exploded legends or unverified rumours; but always something with the shadow of a system of values and a reason for preference. A man does test everything by something. The question here is whether he has ever tested the test.”

Spiritual Resuscitation

This afternoon while I was talking on the phone I lost the connection due to high winds. I looked at the phone and it read "No signal". Then it switched to say "Searching" and this word "Searching" continued to flash for some time. I went to my door to see what was happening outside. As I watched the winds blowing fiercely, the Lord gave me this word. Many of you feel as if you lost your spiritual reception and you need a fresh breath of God. The word breath in the Old Testament is translated "Ruach" and in the New Testament it is "Pneuma". In most scriptures this word is also used interchangeably with the word "Spirit". When God breathe into Adam, He released life to him (ruach). When Jesus breath on his disciples He said: Receive the Holy Spirit (pneuma). Some of you are so exhausted and  spiritually fatigued that you feel as if the breath was knocked out of you. Jesus wants to revive you once again.

The Lord says to those of you who are spiritually famished, allow Me to breathe My breath back into you. Just as Elisha brought the Shunammite woman's dead son back to life as he laid on the boy mouth to mouth, eye to eye, hand to hand and the boy was restored back to life. I am your Ruach. I am your Pneuma. Allow Me to resuscitate you with My breath and revive those dead areas in your life. I will breathe upon you to rekindle the fire that you once had. I will breathe upon you to refresh you once again. As I breathe upon you, you will receive authority in My name. And In the same way that I breath upon My disciples after I walked out of the tomb, and walked through the door where they were staying, I say "Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you." In the same way that I breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. You will also receive power as I breathe upon you to commission you into what you were called to do.

And as I breathe upon you, you will receive My anointing to do great exploits and learn how to walk in a new dimension of signs and wonders. You will have dominion over the kingdom of darkness and all the powers of the enemy. You will be activated once again in the gifts that have been assigned to you. As you allow Me to breathe My breath into you, you will speak with other tongues, you will prophesy, you will see visions and dream dreams. Just as I used my disciples I will use you in the same way to lay hands on others and transfer My glory to them. Just as I used them to lay hands on the sick, you will be appointed to do the same and the sick shall recover. Just as the day that the Holy Spirit fell upon those in the upper room I will visit you once again in a mighty way. Do not fear this intimacy but receive My glory and as you do, all things will be transformed in your life says the Lord.
2 Kings 4: 32 - 35
When Elisha came into the house, there was the child, lying dead on his bed. He went in therefore, shut the door behind the two of them, and prayed to the Lord. And he went up and lay on the child, and put his mouth on his mouth, his eyes on his eyes and his hands on his hands; and he stretched himself out on the child, and the flesh of the child became warm. He returned and walked back and forth in the house, and again went up and stretched himself out on him; then the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.

John  20: 21-22
Jesus said to them again, "Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you." And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit.
Acts 4:31
And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

Heard your interview about the Playlist and the comment about being instructed to "pound on walls" as an alternative to processing pain at the piano etc. really struck me. The next day I watched a tape of a Twilight Zone episode that echoed the same thought. Five people were in a grey walled pit discussing their plight, 'who are we, how'd we get here, what do we do?'--the one female, said "maybe we need to just pound on the walls" . The male spokesperson eventually says, 'we are in hell'; then they stand on each others shoulders...& the one at the top tumbles on to a snow bank! Adversity molds our characters.

We are in a fight but the Bible calls it a "good fight." And it's a fight of faith. What does this mean? Even though our victory was obtained for us when Christ sacrificed his life and then overcame death by resurrection, we still have to fight using our faith to receive and possess what has been promised to us. When Jesus understood that Peter was going to be tempted by satan, He said these words to him, "Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift YOU as wheat. But I have prayed for you, THAT YOUR FAITH SHOULD NOT FAIL; and WHEN you have returned to ME, strengthen your brothers." Luke 22:31-32. Notice that the only thing that Jesus offered him was to pray for his faith not to fail. He never prayed that the temptation or the attack would go away. Faith is the key. "Without faith it is impossible to please God," says the writer of the book of Hebrews. You must WORK with the faith that you have and yes everyone has been granted a measure of faith - Romans 12:3: ".........for God has dealt to each one a measure of faith." I like these 'address' numbers, with the 22's and 1,2,3's !
