Let The Temple Be Filled With His Glory - Cheryl Neptune

Found notes from a Rich Nathan message where he discussed Anthony Flews challenge to believers with the question "How do you tell the difference between an imaginary God and the real one?"
It occurred to me the answer is quite simple-we all tend to try and shape our God into our design and when we come to the place where we understand He is the One who leads us and is Infinite Love and worthy of our worship that challenge seems more and more silly and weak. He is the God of history-there is none like Him in spite of skeptics attempts to teach otherwise and to water down the scriptures.

In the fall of 2012, I saw a vision of a boxing ring with two evil opponents dancing around looking for someone to contend with. One was named The Destroyer, the other was named The Devourer. But no one was opposing them. Then I understood why. I saw on the back of each of their robes the words "This Is Just Life." People believed that all the robbery and difficulty they were encountering was "just life" rather than fighting to take back what was being stolen. It might be wise to inventory what the enemy has robbed from each of us in this past season, then contend and demand a double payment in return. Exodus 22:7 says a thief, when he is caught, must pay back double. It's time to contend!
2. Turning Barrenness into Blossoming
As I set my heart to hear what God is saying to His Church as we began the year of 2013, I had several visions which all had a theme of dry, desolate, desperate situations turning around. I saw a desert that was hot and dry begin to receive great amounts of rain from heaven. As the dry ground received the rain, seeds which had been lying dormant for years suddenly began to spring forth and bloom. Where there was previously no point in sowing in that desolate land, the rain transformed it to become a place of great fruitfulness and blessing. This brought to mind Isaiah 35, which speaks of the desert blossoming, the dry land becoming a pool and springs of water, blind eyes being opened, deaf ears being unstopped, the lame walking, and the redeemed of the Lord singing and rejoicing at the transformation taking place all around them. What caused this turn-around? The outpouring of rain from Heaven!

Public Speaking: Turning My Fear Into Fulfillment

Public Speaking: Turning My Fear Into Fulfillment image shutterstock 148146296 300x240
Fear of public speaking comes very close to the fear of death; Comedian Jerry Seinfeld mentioned it during one of his shows. For Seinfeld it may not be as bad, but for me it was always a big fear and I never really dared to be the lonely one at the podium. As a coach I thought all I would be doing is deep, meaningful conversations with one person at a time. But alas, when I wanted to grow the business people told me that I needed to speak, not just with one person, in front of a group. “No, that is not an option” – was my immediate reaction. I consoled myself, “May be I will write instead”. I wrote blogs before so that plan B seemed more doable.
After a while it started bugging me… I was avoiding something because of my fear. I remembered, I really enjoyed some of the seminars/workshops I had attended, it would be wonderful if I can do such great work one day. That seemed like a vision I felt genuinely excited about. I decided to take some baby steps. I went to the toastmasters, hired a coach, conducted small scale tele-seminars, webinars, in person seminars. Every time I stretched and learned a little more. Some fear was always there but I chose to go ahead anyway.
Fast forward two years. Last week I was giving my career vision workshop at a local tech company. I was totally in my zone. It felt like a dance to me. I was well prepared and at the same time I was spontaneous. Two hours flew by, not a single minute felt awkward in that room. I was so present that I even shared this experience with the participants when one asked what a vision should look like. Was it a magic or something else? Last few days I gave it a thought and identified a few elements that contributed to this wonderful experience for me:
1. I Related Well With the Audience
Having a similar career background I was able to relate very well with my audience. I felt their pain, I spoke their language (or sometimes the lack thereof :) ).
2. I Prepared Well
This workshop has evolved so much in the last two years. Every time, I learned from the participants’ responses and from their feedback. I tweaked the examples and brought new ones. Even that morning before I delivered my session, I came up with recent most stories to share with my audience. Now that I have the core contents ready, I am more relaxed and much more creative with it.
My original fear mostly came from this question- “What is the value add for the audience”? For any seminar/workshop I make sure I have an answer for it.
3. I Aligned It with My Values
From the very beginning, I honored and respected my own values of keeping it simple, meaningful and fun. I sometimes try new things, give choices to my audience – experimenting and collaborating goes very well with my innate values.
Looking back, I see all of these were possible because I wanted to be in front of such a group of people. The day I got in touch with the excitement to inspire others with my work, it started to steer me out that blocking fear. Not merely overcoming the fear, it guided my energy towards the ideal of an excellent public speaker I envisioned to be.

Why Defensiveness is Your Worst Offense

When I was new to the business world, I was very sensitive. I was so insecure about whether or not I was doing a good job that I took constructive feedback badly. Specifically, I would get defensive and respond as if I was being attacked, at any hint that my work, appearance, or conduct wasn’t absolutely perfect. An example:
“Alex, your suits are nice, but sometimes they look a little wrinkly. Do you think you could change before our meeting with the CEO?” said my boss.
“Are you kidding? Do you have any idea how much I paid for this suit? I’ve gotten 3 compliments on it already today,” said I.
I’m remembering this today because I am presently working with a 23-year-old who has the same issue. When I gently suggested that she try a bit harder to collaborate with our other team members, she got red and flustered the way I once did, and nearly bit my head off with her response. Her retort of choice was that no one else has ever given her that feedback, so it must not be true.
I beg to differ. Of course it’s true, and I’m the only person who cares enough about this young woman to be honest. If I’ve noticed it, everyone else has too, and if she doesn’t fix what are now two problems – her lack of collaboration and her defensiveness – she will never reach the level of success she desires.
No one does everything right all the time. If you can’t accept criticism gracefully, your managers and colleagues will avoid giving it to you and you will never grow. You may even become known as one of those people who is “difficult” to deal with or has a bad attitude, damaging your work relationships and reputation.
There is a right way and a wrong way to handle criticism, so here are some of my tried-and-true tips:
  1. Depersonalize the criticism: Repeat to yourself, “It’s a specific behavior that’s the problem, not me as a person.”
  2. Assertively restate the comments for clarification: Say to the person, “What I heard was that Behavior X is not acceptable.”
  3. Seek guidance: Ask the person, “How could I do that differently? What change would be appropriate?”
  4. Process the input: After taking some time to think about it, ask yourself honestly, “Is this criticism valid? Am I willing to make the change to eliminate the contention?”
  5. Review your progress/seek follow-up: Say to the person, “I’m working hard to bring about the change we talked about. Do you have any suggestions for what else I can do?”
Provided the criticism is meant to help you, be sensitive to what the other person is feeling. It was probably very hard for her to approach you, and you will score major points by trying to make her more comfortable.
Never, ever let your emotions get the best of you. If the criticism really hurts and you don’t think you can control yourself, politely excuse yourself and resume the conversation once you’ve had a chance to calm down. This may also buy you some valuable time for step four, or processing the input, before you decide on a plan of action.

Five Wagons of Revival

wagonofrevivalWhen I face certain kinds of spiritual attack I have learned to go on the offensive. I lay in bed early one morning prior to speaking in a conference feeling oppressed and tired even after a good nights sleep. I knew I needed to move in faith so I began to declare aloud parts of Psalm 91:
‘He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty, whose power no evil foe can withstand! I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge, He is my fortress, my God, on Him will I lean and rely, and in Him will I confidently trust! Surely then He shall deliver me from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover me with His feathers, and under His wings I shall take refuge; His truth shall be my shield and buckler.’
The power of the word of God is released when believed and spoken! As I proclaimed these vital verses the dunamis of God began strengthening my soul. So I did it again with renewed strength and more conviction.
“Suddenly, I saw in the top of my hotel room a type of open spiritual passageway. I knew instinctively that I could leap into it and be carried into the realm of the heavens. So I did. At lightening speed I zoomed through the atmospheric realm of the prince of the power of the air. I heard demonic voices saying, ‘Hey, you can’t come through here!’ I laughed knowing their attempts to stop me were in vain. I was going and that was that!
“I landed in the heavens in a shadow like place under a huge dark wing at least 12’0” tall. Tennis ball size and larger precious stones beyond description exuded from the enormous wing. Gold and silver particles and other precious metals were coming out of the wing. I had never seen anything like it before. I was confused. At first I didn’t understand why the place was so dark. I thought angel’s wings would be white, but then I realized something. Had I not just boldly proclaimed that I would dwell in the secret place of the Most High and abide under the shadow of the Almighty? Had I not declared that He would deliver me from the snare of the fowler, you know, the bird catcher? That’s quite a promise for a man named Robin! Had I not emphatically proclaimed; ‘He shall cover me with His feathers, and under His wings I shall take refuge?’ I was not under a massive angel’s wing but had found refuge under the very wing of the Great Eagle, the One of whom I had been proclaiming.”
Five Supernatural Wagons
In that place the Lord authorized me to bring back and release five wagons of divine substance. The first one was a wagon called ‘Deliverance from Deserved Consequences’. The second wagon was called ‘Deliverance from Criticism and the Critical Spirit’. The third wagon was called ‘Hope’. The fourth wagon was called ‘Provision’. The fifth wagon was called ‘New Vision for the United States’.
Interpretation and Meaning of the Wagons
One characteristic of this kind of spiritual encounter is that you instinctively know things. I knew I would find the significance and understanding of the wagons in the story of the amazing restoration of Joseph to his father Jacob and his brothers recorded in Genesis 45. A significant part of the restoration occurred because of wagons Joseph sent to his father to prove he was alive.
“And Joseph sent to his father these things: ten donkeys loaded with the good things of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with grain, bread, and food for his father and for the journey” (Genesis 45: 23).
“Then they went up out of Egypt, and came to the land of Canaan to Jacob their father. And they told him, saying, ‘Joseph is still alive, and he is governor over all the land of Egypt.’ And Jacob’s heart stood still, because he did not believe them”.
“But when they told him all the words which Joseph had said to them, and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived” (Genesis 45:25-27, italics mine).
Joseph’s words and Joseph’s wagons had this effect on his father: ‘The spirit of Jacob their father revived’. That is the first time the word ‘revive’ is used in the Bible. In the context of this encounter it speaks volumes. These 5 wagons, when activated, have the potential to release revival and restoration. Joseph is the clearest type of the Lord Jesus in the whole Old Testament. Some students of the scripture had found over 80 similarities between the two. For instance, the disciples thought Jesus was dead, but He was alive and Lord of All. For 22 years Joseph’s family thought he was dead. He was not only ‘not dead’ but alive and lord of all Egypt.
“Our hearts and this generation will revive when we see the amazing resources of heaven that Christ Jesus has provided for the world as represented by these five wagons!
Wagon #1
The first wagon was called Deliverance from Deserved Consequences. Jesus loves people so much that He wants to set them free from their bad choices and decisions. Perhaps you did the wrong thing, you made the wrong choice, yes, you sinned –but, Jesus wants to set you free from what you deserve and the consequences of your actions.
Wagon #2
“The second wagon was called Deliverance from Criticism and the Critical Spirit! Jesus can set wounded people free from the effects of people’s criticisms to become who He says they are. That wagon is also intended to deliver us from being critical. Remember, Jesus also warned that we would be judged in direct proportion to our condemnation of others.
Wagon #3
The third wagon was called Provision. God has provided for the needs and desires of His people. It’s all in heaven. In Matthew 6:10 Jesus taught us to pray, ‘Your Kingdom come in earth as it is in heaven,’ and meant that what happens in heaven should happen on earth. There are no poor people in heaven, no sick, no depressed either! We can access all that heaven contains.
Wagon #4
“The fourth was a wagon called Hope. Hope is an indispensible commodity. It is the foundation for faith, for ‘faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). The Apostle Paul said that hope anchors our soul. Hope secures our entire mental welfare and energizes our life of faith! Hopelessness is the fruit of believing lies. Jesus said we would know the truth and the truth would set us free. One who accurately knows Jesus and believes the truth is filled with a hope that cannot be extinguished!
Wagon # 5
The fifth wagon is called ‘New Vision for the United States’. In the story of Joseph Pharaoh provided the very best place in all of Egypt for them called Goshen which means ‘drawing near.’  James 4:8 says, ‘Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.’ If our nation will draw near to God, He will draw near to us and change our nation! I believe that is going to happen in the United States. We are on the verge of another Great Spiritual Awakening that shall once again reshape our nation.
Activating the Five Wagons
Why were these heavenly blessings in wagons? Wagons are pulled by something called ‘the tongue.’ You must properly use your tongue to access what’s in them. The wagons I saw were huge ancient wooden ones with wheels having big wooden spokes. You could say they were ‘spoken’ wheels. How we use our tongue and our spoken words are so important:
‘Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit’ (Proverbs 18:21).
‘For with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation’ (Romans 10:10).
Each of us may access the contents of these heavenly wagons by believing in the existence of their substance and speaking their reality by an agreement of faith. Jesus has so much for us. The reviving of our nation is His intention. Lay hold of these five wagons and see what happens in your life. The time is now.

Chain of Sorrow
(Bruised orange)

My heart's in the ice house come hill or come valley
Like a long ago Sunday when I walked through the alley
On a cold winter's morning to a church house
just to shovel some snow.

I heard sirens on the train track howl naked gettin' nuder,
An altar boy's been hit by a local commuter
just from walking with his back turned
to the train that was coming so slow.

You can gaze out the window get mad and get madder,
throw your hands in the air, say "What does it matter?"
but it don't do no good to get angry,
so help me I know

For a heart stained in anger grows weak and grows bitter.
You become your own prisoner as you watch yourself sit there
wrapped up in a trap of your very own
chain of sorrow.

I been brought down to zero, pulled out and put back there.
I sat on a park bench, kissed the girl with the black hair
and my head shouted down to my heart
"You better look out below!"
Hey, it ain't such a long drop don't stammer don't stutter
from the diamonds in the sidewalk to the dirt in the gutter
and you carry those bruises to remind you wherever you go
.

He's just a small fry. A bit too gun shy.
To have his heart touched without a glove
He looks at strangers as potential dangers
Trying to Steal his aimless love.

Love has no mind. It can't spell unkind.
It's never seen a heart shaped like a Valentine
For if love knew him. It'd walk up to him
And introduce him to an aimless love

I been out walking. Kinda pillow talking
To anyone that has the time for me
For there are some folks they think that love chokes.
It ties and keeps them from being free

Love has no mind. It can't spell unkind
It's never seen a heart shaped like a Valentine
For if love knew you. It'd walk up to you
And introduce you to an aimless love

Do you look at strangers as potential dangers
Trying to steal your aimless love.

Love has no mind. It can't spell unkind
It's never seen a heart shaped like a Valentine
For if love knew you. It'd walk up to you
And introduce you to an aimless love

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NLT)

16 Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NKJV)
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

John Prine - One Red Rose Lyrics

The rain came down
On the tin roof
Hardly
A sound was left
From the birthday party
The kitchen light
Fell asleep
On the bedroom floor
Me and her were talking softer
Than all the time
Before I lost her
Picture sat on top
Of the chest of drawers

Chorus:
One red rose
In the Bible
Pressed between
The Holy alphabet
Probably wouldn't believe you
If you told me
But what I never knew
I never will forget

Rainy nites
Get dark real early
Her dress was soft
And her hair was curly
We danced around the table
To the old banjo
Rainy nites
Were made for lovers
We lay there still
Beneath the covers
And I ain't never felt
Like that before

You got gold!

Songwriters: JOHN PRINE, KEITH SYKES
Is there ever enough space between us
To keep us both honest and true?
Why is it so hard just to sit in the yard
And stare at the sky so blue?
I've got a new way of walking and a new way of talking
Honey when I'm around you,
But it gives me the blues when I've got some good news
And you're not there to bring it to.

Life is a blessing, it's a delicatessen
Of all the little favors you do.
All wrapped up together no matter the weather,
Baby you always come through.
It's a measure of treasure that gives me the pleasure
Of loving you the way I do
And you know I would gladly say I need your love badly
And bring these little things to you.

Cause you got gold
Gold inside of you
You got gold
Gold inside of you
Well I got some
Gold inside me too

Well I'm thinking I'm knowing that I gotta be going
You know I hate to say so long.
It gives me an ocean of mixed up emotion
I'll have to work it out in a song.
Well I'm leaving a lot for the little I got
But you know a lot a little will do
And if you give me your love
I'll let it shine up above
And light my way back home to you.

Cause you got gold
Gold inside of you
Cause you got gold
Gold inside of you
Well I got some
Gold inside me too

You got wheels
Turning inside of you
You got wheels
Turning inside of you
Well I got wheels
Turning inside me too

At home group last night the songs reminded me of Eph. 2:10...we are called God's 'masterpieces', then thought of the other portions of Ephesians 1 and 2 I had written along with John 17:23 & 1:12. I shared how I had found the note written in 1991 and realized how much the words I had jotted on a
3" x 5"  card about how a handful of men who had seen the Father by spending time with Jesus and then turned one of the greatest empires in history upside down fit with the truths from John 17:23 and Ephesians:

John 17:23 (New Living Translation)

23 I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.

February Seven Lyrics

I went on the search for something true
I was almost there when I found you
Sooner than my fate was wrote
A perfect blade, it slit my throat
And beads of lust released in to the air
When I awoke you were standing there
I was on the mend when I fell through
The sky around was anything but blue
I found as I regained my feet
A wound across my memory
That no amount of stitches would repair
But I awoke and you were standing there
Chorus
There's no fortune at the end of the road
That has no end
There's no returning to the spoils
Once you've spoiled the thought of them
There's no falling back to sleep
Once you've waken from the dream
Now I'm rested and I'm ready
I'm rested and I'm ready to begin
I'm ready to begin
I went on the search for something real
I traded what I know for how I feel
But the ceiling and the walls collapsed
Upon the darkness I was trapped
And as the last of breath was drawn from me
The light broke in and brought me to my feet
Chorus
There's no fortune at the end of the road
That has no end
There's no returning to the spoils
Once you've spoiled the thought of them
There's no falling back to sleep
Once you've waken from the dream
Now I'm rested and I'm ready
I'm rested and I'm ready
Yeah I'm rested and I'm ready
I'm rested and I'm ready
Yeah I'm rested and I'm ready
I'm rested and I'm ready to begin
I'm ready to begin

Proverbs shows us that boldness is a quality of righteousness: 'The righteous are as bold as a lion' (Proverbs 28:1). The solution to fear is not bravery, but faith in God. Jesus goes right to the heart of the matter in just a few words: 'don’t be afraid; just believe' (Luke 8:50). The word used for afraid in this passage is a Greek that we all recognize: 'phobia.' In other words, the command of Jesus is: 'Don't have phobia, have faith.' God bless you richly today. REINHARD BONNKE

Saw great segment of Max Lucado on TBN yesterday while at Fritzs house for CK. Taught on GRACE! So powerful as he encouraged the practice of speaking God's truth to the lies that attack our true identity and authority in Christ, As we do this we walk in greater freedom and victory, day by day.
