Misty Edwards, Strings (Lyrics)

  1. Beautiful song about heart strings-reminds me of the verse number 'strings' I noticed this morning when I opened Weymouth NT to Lk.6:46, then saw the connection of the passage with chapter 7 verse 8 & the number associations help fix this truth in my mind...saw the 4...6...8 & the 7 of course; seven and heaven reoccur so frequently throughout scripture! Shouldn't surprise us since it is the place we are being prepared for as Jesus says in Jn.14:1-2-3! There's that simple order and sequence again. Thank You Father, for Your great faithfulness and mercy that endures forever... The Luke passage is also much more significant due to its association with the message Insoo Kim gave last eve, illustrated by a story from a Gordon McDonald book about a man who builds a boat to impress people but neglects the unseen structural components and thus gets capsized in a storm--storms are common on the seas of life and we must be wise and prepare to navigate them safely and well--'smooth seas don't make skillful sailors!'

  2. Also couldn't help but be reminded when reading the words of Luke 6 and 7 of their connection with the unforgettable quote from Cool Hand Luke, "What we have here is a failure to communicate" spoken by the sadistic chain gang Warden after Luke is recaptured following an escape from prison.

  3. It was such a profound revelation in The Torch and the Sword when it was revealed to Rick: Moses being given a glimpse of Gods back was a forward look at the Redemption price paid in part by His stripes received in Gethsemane.
